99 golfers will tee it up on Monday, June 23rd, at the Niagara Falls Country Club, site of the 56th Porter Cup Tournament. Their shared goal will be to earn one of the eight coveted spots in the tournament proper. The 18-hole qualifying tournament will feature a number of former Porter Cup participants, including James Blackwell, Michael Boss and Brandon Ng. Many local hopefuls, like Thad Wier of East Aurora and St. John Fisher College, will do battle over the 4.5 hour round, where a score of three-under par is typically required to advance to the Porter Cup.
