2014 Women's Porter Cup Round Two Scores & Photos

As in year one, there was a low score lurking for the ladies at Niagara Falls Country Club. Unlike the event’s maiden voyage in 2013, when eventual champion Cassie Cathrea burst from the first tee to a first-round 65, 2014 had to wait until round two, when Canadian national team member Jennifer Ha posted her own 65 to take a three-stroke lead over the other first-round leader, Jennifer Marchand (68). Moving into third position at 138, four strokes in arrears, is Princess Superal of the Philipines, who also signed for a Thursday 68. World number two-ranked Brooke Henderson of Smith Falls, Ontario, lurks at 143 after recovering from Wednesday’s 75 with a fine 68 of her own.

On the local front, Catherine Peters of Clarence Center is low at 150 after a 2nd-round 74. Maren Cipolla (76-75) is one stroke behind Peters. Other area entrants include Rene Sobolewski (Buffao-154), Chelse Dantonio (Lancaster-155), Katherine Creighton (Buffalo-159) and Michelle Hanes (Elma-162).
