@Aballcornerpkt otherwise known as Adam Ball of VCU, scorched the Monroe Golf Club’s Donald Ross course on Saturday with six birdies and an eagle, and zero blemishes. Yup, that 62 was good enough to steal the 2015 Monroe Invitational from every-other-round leader @beautitsworth Beau Titsworth of U Oklahoma and @Derek_Bard Derek Bard of U Virginia. Understand that Titsworth did very little wrong, although his 71 matched his Friday score for his high round of the week. No one had gone below 66 the previous three days, so who would have imagined a 62? As for Bard, all he did on Saturday was nearly match that week’s-previous-low round of 67, but there went Adam Ball, flying by like the cars on the adjacent I-490. What can you do?

In other news, Eric Banks of U Florida nearly matched Banks’ 62. The pride of the Gators posted six birdies and twelve pars on Saturday for 64 and a tie for 15th. Brandon Matthews of Temple moved into the top ten with a final-round 69. The remainder of the top ten included Kevin DeHuff of Pepperdine (4th), Shotaro ban of Cal-Berkeley and Alastair Tidcombe of Coastal Georgia (5th), John VanDerLaan of  Florida Southern (7th), Matthews (8th) and six golfers (Vincent Whaley, Blair Hamilton, Will Betts, Jared duToit, Turner Southey-Gordon and Jake Mondy) in a tie for ninth. Buffalo-area golfers Daniel Yustin and Jacob Kreuz finished t36 and t52, respectively.

It has been our pleasure to cover the 2015 Monroe Invitational, our first. We plan to return in 2016 for the next playing of this fine event. Have a gander at some of the lighter moments of the week as we bid Monroe Golf Club and Pittsford, NY farewell for now.
