The #2015ijm 2015 International Junior Masters at East Aurora country club follows on the heels of the typically-dramatic US Open finale. That’s a proper sequence, as the IJM rarely has a yawner of a finish. In 2014, Will Thomson survived an extra-holes battle with Nolan Ditcher in the semi-finals to advance to the final match. There, the wee Thomson stretched out to a 3-and-2 match play victory over Blake Gerber.

The field includes the defending champion Thomson (now no longer a wee lad,) 2014 semi-finalist Nolan Ditcher, international contingents from Australia, Canada, Colombia, Mexico and Scotland, and local favorites David Hanes, Ben Reichert and Gregory Sibick. Events begin Monday, June 22nd with a practice round and the annual Ham-Am contest, pairing East Aurora country club members with IJM contestants. On Tuesday, a medal round will be played, to be followed by a second medal round on Wednesday morning. All golfers will then be flighted into Championship, Gold, Silver and Bronze flights, for the first match-play round on Wednesday afternoon. After the first round of the Championship flight, the winning contestants will move on while those on the losing end will compose the Consolation flight.
