Nichols School will host the 2011 Midwest Prep Classic the weekend of October 1st and 2nd. The five-year old event brings together many of the area’s public and private high schools for 36 holes of medal play golf, for team and individual glory. Diamond Hawk golf course, in Cheektowaga, will provide a stern test for the entrants.

The tournament, hosted previously by Kiski School of Saltsburg, Pennsylvania, took its act on the road this year and expanded to 36 holes. The intent was to provide regional schools with a taste of what college golf tournaments are like. Kiski and Lake Forest (near Chicago) Academy will win the “longest trip” awards this year, while local public favorites Hamburg, Starpoint and Orchard Park, and area private powers Canisius, St. Joes and St. Francis will join the host school in competition.
