They say snow may come our way tomorrow and for all but the truest of true die hard golfers, that translates to the end of a season. This season was like any other for me as I actually “tried” to get better. By that, I mean I took some lessons, read some books and put some hours in on the practice range.

Looking back – I’d say I’m 4-6 shots better a round then I was a year ago at this time. I also take great pride in the golf I played during our annual summer trip (this year to Bethpage) as I felt I held my own. I can’t hit it as pure as Mo Golf nor do I have the trickery that makes Scrambler the Scrambler – but I played the game with some fight for once.

My biggest takeaway from all of Operation Don’t Suck is this – improvement is possible. It takes work and time and getting rounds in (none if which is always easy) but it’s possible. My long iron game and driver still big for work and I’ll surely try to oblige. I know if I do the work, I can get better. That’s a great belief to have.

I’m hopeful Operation Don’t Suck continues and a year from now I can post about how I’m another 4-6 shots better. That’s the plan.
