The PGA Tour is headed to PGA National Champions course which means the best players in world will be taking on the Bear Trap, the 15th, 16th and 17th holes of the course. It picked up its name after Jack Nicklaus (the Golden Bear) helped make the holes tougher years ago. It is a brutal stretch which you’ll hear about a lot this weekend. We’ll be interested to see how defending champ Camilo Villegas performs. He hasn’t had a great start to 2011 with a DQ, WD, Cut and T33 and T44 finishes thus far on the PGA Tour. He’s shown great promise but is currently 143rd in FEDEX Cup points on the year. Maybe this is the week he gets it going.
