40 years after River Oaks golf club hosted the LPGA Tour (1973 and 1974), national tournament golf returns to the Grand Island layout in July of 2014. The inaugural New Era Junior Championship will be contested over the 7400-yard layout over three days of medal play. Girls and boys divisions will compete for glory, victory and American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) points.

The field will be populated by some of the nation’s top junior golfers. 72 male and 24 female golfers will make up the starting field. 62 and 19, respectively, will come from the AJGA points ladder. 8 and 3 will come from the open qualifier and 2 spots in each gender division will be special exemptions.

An open qualifier for non-exempt junior golfers will be held on Sunday, July 13th. Monday the 14th will celebrate a practice round and the 54-hole event will be contested from Tuesday, July 15th through Thursday, July 17th. For more information, visit the tournament micro site.
