Ever since I attended the PGA Show in 2002, I’ve loved gaining admission to golf shows. New equipment and apparel, untasted golf courses, potential vacation destinations … these are some of the attractions offered by gatherings of golf industry members and their adoring public. A few years back, Buffalo hosted a show at the Convention Center downtown and it was a hit. Unfortunately, the show hasn’t returned in the past few years, so I’ve had to make due with a similar offering in our neighbor city of Rochester.

The Rochester golf show returns in February of 2014 for a thee-day run, from the 7th through the 9th. The venue for the event is the Dome Arena and Expo Center in Henrietta, a suburb of the big city. The show opens Friday at noon and runs until six pm. On Saturday and Sunday, doors open at nine and close at five and three, respectively. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for senior 65 and older (no coupons) and free for little ones 8 and under.

The booths for the event will number close to 100 and will include major golf manufacturers like Bridgeston, Nike and Mizuno. Many area courses, stretching from Niagara Falls to Utica, will be present to answer questions and offer opportunities for the 2014 season. Ancillary and adjunct businesses will round out the slate of presenters.

As the event draws closer, BuffaloGolfer will endeavor to present show highlights and inside stories in future pieces. Come back often to find out what will be up at the 2014 Rochester Golf Show.
