1) Tiger Woods took questions about the AT&T National event scheduled for later this summer and revealed that he’s now on crutches and wearing a protective boot in hopes of being healthy for the 2011 U.S. Open. I can’t stand the thought of Woods’ injured, mamed and weak. I honestly don’t care if he ever wins a major again – I miss the fighter that Woods used to be more than anything. That’s not to suggest that he should risk his health to be out playing golf… but don’t you remember how it used to be?

2) This week on Tour is one of my favorites with the HP Byron Nelson. If you remember last year – Jordan Spieth (16 years of age and in high school at the time) shot up the leaderboard and contended until the back nine on Sunday. Spieth is back this year and a year older. It would be wonderful to see him make a similar charge. Richard Durrett has put together an excellent post on Spieth that you should read. It would be superb if he were in the Porter Cup field this summer.
