You don’t, you can’t, turn down the better offer. BuffaloGolfer’s “A Lady<\/a>” didn’t. The better offer wasn’t ours; we knew long ago that Cassandra Stein would be moving on. On to the American Junior Golf Association, then the United States Golf Association and now, GolfWeek. So far, so good.<\/p>\n

After a stellar high school golf career and two years of division 1 play at Robert Morris, Cassie decided to focus on career goals. Playing golf took a back seat to conducting tournaments and writing about the game. She went to two Walker Cups as a fan (Merion and Royal Aberdeen), spent a semester in Ireland and worked various stints as a paid intern for the finest golfing associations in the USA. Prior to all this, she learned the tournament game as director of player housing for the Porter Cup, the pre-eminent stroke play event on the summer amateur circuit.<\/p>\n

These days, Cassandra Stein can be found at the offices of Golf Week, a paper and digital publication housed in Orlando, Florida. Stein reports on college golf, with the occasional foray into other topics. \u00a0Two recent pieces, on Texas freshman Branden Stone<\/a> and TCU sophomore Julien Brun<\/a>, give a sense of Miss Stein’s direction.<\/p>\n
