Have I been away from golf that long?
There’s plenty of golf in Costa Rica, but I haven’t seen any. Near Turrialba, where Rawlings makes baseballs for Major League Baseball, Guayabo National Monument park protects a series of burial mounds, natural storage tanks and aqueducts built around 800 AD.
While I marvel at the engineering required to create the system of water management, I get distracted by the thought of an elevated tee, playing down to one of many potential green sites, or perhaps as a par four hole, where hybrid off the tee is the play, then down and right to a green nestled in a natural amphitheater.
I need to get home…
