Byrncliff is my favorite course in the WNY area, and I headed out this morning to get in another 18. I was met with this image in the Pro Shop.
The above photo reminds us of the WNY Golf Season’s Mortality.
Fortunately, Byrncliff is one of the hardy courses that will provide me solace in the next month. Golf will be available until when Mother Nature makes it an impossibility. Only then will Byrncliff Golf Course cede to it’s winter skiing usage.
Until then, we’ll have to maneuver around the ski paraphernalia when paying our (cheap – $15!) green fees. In the coming weeks, snow fences will pop up to delineate the ski paths. More and more, I will be monitoring the 5 and 10 days weather forecasts, so the end does not come without a final hurrah!
I pledge to savor every remaining moment until the Bitter End!
