The 2025 Masters tournament experienced a dose of sweater weather, then temperatures crawled north from the low 60s, to reach a high in the mid 70s by late afternoon.
The golf warmed up as well, as Justin Rose took the lead at seven-under par. Corey Conners poste four under, to join last year’s winner (Scottie Scheffler) and runner-up (Ludvig Aberg) in second position.

The battle was joined in the BuffaloGolfer contest as well. The host did everyone but himself a favor by posting six-over par, to finish the day in 74th of 84 places. First place went to SPGC, who went all in on guys with a strong track record at Augusta National. Its starting lineup included Scheffler, Aberg, and Bryson DeChambeau, who posted -3. First-timer Davis Thompson came through with -1, and it was only the childish collapse of Rory McIlroy (E) that kept SPGC from a lower number.
In a second-place tie are four teams: Viking Crew, Greg’s Great Picks, Rmann30, and OMG! Crew had four of the same five as SPGC, swapping only Maverick McNealy for Thompson. GGP had the same lineup as Crew, predicting a playoff if things go their way. Rmann added Hideki Matsuyama as former champ, but did have Aberg, Scheffler, and Corey Conners. McNealy also found his way into this successful lineup. Finally, OMG! joined GGP and Crew with the identical five contestants.
Look for things to widen out on Friday, as tee times flip and cutline nerves make an appearance.
