About the Course

Holiday Valley is one of the more unique courses in western New York. The course offers holes for the long hitter, others for the accurate striker, and an unforgettable sequence of back-nine holes that trace the resort’s renowned downhill ski trails. Other resort amenities include:

From the Holiday Valley resort website: Come summer, Holiday Valley is robed in lush green and magnificent gardens. The 18 hole par 70 “Double Black Diamond” golf course is challenging and well maintained with breathtaking scenery from every hole. The Double Black Diamond was nominated by Golf Magazine ’09 as one of the best redesigns in the country.

The course is a pleasing blend of a mountain and flat terrain. The relatively level front nine plays longer, while the back nine winds its way through the base of the mountains and provides spectacular views.

The course measures 6500 yards, but plays the equivalent of a much longer course. The combination of well-watered fairways and variations in terrain extends the 18 holes and makes play more challenging.

Course Layout

For the entirety of the front nine, you might suspect that you are on a cross-country ski trail. The outward half traces the lower perimeter of the resort. This does not mean that holes lack for interest and challenge, however. Undulating, speedy greens and constantly-changing hole directions ensure that the opening half remains etched in each golfer’s memory.
