Here are your updated LeaderBoard and Round Four Tee Sheets.
As noted in the Friday Recap, Round 2 leaders Paul Haley and Patrick Rodgers had the opportunity to make Saturday an exclusive duel, but both failed to capitalize on soft scoring conditions Friday. Haley leads the 53rd Porter Cup with a 54-hole total of 199 (-11), but 9 golfers are within 4 strokes, including a sixsome at -8.
Scoring volatility is the one constant at Niagara Falls Country Club. Rounds in the mid-to-low 60s are not uncommon. Similarly, scorecards that feature pars in the minority are not unusual. As a result, Saturday promises to be a shootout with plenty of spectating excitement. Do yourself a favor and support one of the nation’s best amateur golf tournaments in our own backyard.
If you asked me, who are the future PGA Tour or Euro Tour pros in this field, I’d be hard-pressed to pick any. English and Peterson show potential, more as evidenced by last week than this. I put my money on those two as Porter Cup 2011 concludes.
