2012 New York State Amateur Championship’s Last Chance Qualifier

New York State Golf Association members wishing to participate in the 2012 New York State Amateur Championship at Elmira Country Club (July 17-19) are getting another opportunity to qualify for the event.

Once sectional qualifying has been completed on July 2, entry will be opened for the Last Chance Qualifier, whereas any eligible player, regardless of previous attempts to qualify or failure to meet the original entry deadline, will have one last chance to qualify for the state amateur.

This last qualifier will be restricted to the first 60 entries received with the number of qualifying spots determined by the Last Chance Qualifier and Championship field sizes. It is expected that approximately 12 spots will be available if the field is at the established capacity of 60 players.

Last Chance Qualifier Information

Entry Fee: $100*
Date: Sunday, July 15, 2012
Tee Times: 12:30pm-3:21pm
Format: 18 holes of individual stroke play.
Tees to be Played: Blue Tees (6,692 par-72)
Carts: The use of golf carts is approved only for sectional qualifying, payment for which is included in the entry fee.
Qualifying Spots: The number of qualifying spots available will be determined once the final NYS Amateur sectional qualifier has been completed on July 2.  This number will be calculated using a multiplier lower than that used for other sectional qualifying locations.
