Ryan Kauffman of Iroquois eked out a 1-stroke victory over Depew’s Andrew Romano in the Section VI State qualifier at Diamond Hawk. Both players had rounds of 80 in the morning 18, but Kauffman played the third nine in even-par 36 to Romano’s 37. Rounding out the nine-man team that will represent western New York at Cornell University’s Robert Trent Jones golf course in June are Kevin Borowicz (Grand Island), David Berkun (Williamsville North), Nolan Ditcher (Randolph), Nick Ortiz (Frontier), Brad Belote (Lancaster), Ben Reichert (Williamsville North) and Wil Bathurst (Olean).
