Sixty talented golfers will arrive at the Niagara Falls country club for the second playing of the Women’s Porter Cup. To be held June 11th to the 13th, the event will be contested over 54 holes at medal play. Although defending champion Cassie Cathrea will not be in the field, a number of the nation’s finest female amateur golfers will traverse the fairways and greens of the Lewiston, NY course, seeking to become the second champion in the young history of the event.

Heading the list of contestants is the world’s third-ranked amateur golfer, Brooke Henderson of Smith Falls, Ontario. Henderson is the current Canadian Amateur champion and a former Canadian Junior champion. She has participated successfully in multiple professional events, including a top-sixty finish at last year’s USGA Women’s Open championship.

The second act of the WPC drama has cast a great deal of local talent in potentially-starring roles. Returning are 2013 contestants Rene Sobolewski (Buffalo) and Chelse Dantonio (Lancaster.) Joining them will be Katherine Creighton (Kenmore), Michelle Hanes (Elma) and a dozen more local golfers.
