In a team competition that came down to the last individual match, the Central New York PGA assistants team defeated its Western New York counterpart by a score of 10.5 to 9.5. The match was played at Blue Heron Hills in Macedon, NY, on Thursday, October 17th.

Dan Colosi of Wildwood country club and Alex Weir of Kahkwa each earned all three possible points for the Western team, while Alan Seamans of the Central New York PGA office earned the entire complement of points for the Central team. All golfers competed in three nine-hole matches.

The team portion of the event saw Central take a 3-2 lead after the first round of Fourball (better ball) matches. Western responded with a 3-2 victory of its own in the second round of Foursomes (alternate shot) bouts. The Individual segment saw all ten golfers from each side square off. Western owned a one-point lead until the last two matches, when Seamans and Will Weimer of Oswergo country club tallied impressive wins to snatch the day’s victory away.
