Early-week weather warnings again proved to be unfounded as the inaugural AJGA New Era Junior Championship, at River Oaks golf club on Grand Island, NY marched onward into round two. The girls wave went off first again and first-round leader Sara Riso had a tough go of it, allowing for a change at the top of the leader board. Katie Kim improved from 74 to 71 to take a one-stroke lead over Maren Cipolla, who dropped two strokes (from 75 to 73) to take up a place in the final threesome on Thursday. Rounding out the top three is Emily Mills, who managed a 74 and sits four behind the leader.

For the boys, the low round of the morning wave was posted by Colin Dubnik of Rochester. He improved 13 strokes over his day-one score, from 82 to 69 and moved into the top 20. Charles Sun of Florida was minus-two through eleven holes at press time. First-round co-leaders Ben Reichert and Michael VanDerLaan were at plus-one and even on the day, respectively, when this gallery of images was filed.
