It’s been a month since I played golf. I hate to admit it, but it’s the honest truth. I love the sport but it has its time and place in my years. Once football returns, I have a way of forgetting to check in on my favorite game.
The next week will give me an opportunity to rekindle my relationship with golf. I have a work sponsored event and two rounds scheduled next weekend as I’ll be home for a family wedding. I’m looking forward to playing in a way I can’t fully explain. It’s been a month since I walked a golf course, it’s almost the start of a new season.
It will be a short burst and then it will be gone. I imagine I won’t play anymore in 2011 after next weekend. The fall and winter have a way of keeping the clubs out of my hand. But for one week, I’ll card multiple rounds. I’ll play the game with the same regularity I played all summer. I’m excited. I’ll be sneaking a few wonderful fall rounds of golf into my schedule…
I encourage you to do the same.
This is the reason why most high school golfers in WNY are the luckiest in the land-they get to play at this time of year.
