2014 might be remembered as the year in which major amateur golf became established in western New York. The Porter Cup hosts three events (women’s, men’s and senior men’s) and the International Junior Masters welcomes junior boys to our region each June. For the first time, the AJGA (American Junior Golf Association) and the IJGT (International Junior Golf Tour) will bring events to Buffalo-Niagara.
The IJGT has fixed the 15th and 16th of July as competition dates for its Summer Series at Glen Oak event. The 36-hole tournament is open to female and male junior golfers and has a microsite here. As of this writing, spots are open in the event and registration is simple on the IJGT site.
