A four-birdie, zero-bogey round of 67 placed Williamsville’s Jake Katz in a tie for 17th place in Plantation, Florida, after round one of the 2nd Qualifying Stage for a PGA Tour card. Katz opened and closed his round with birdies on par five holes (his strength, since the dude is seriously long) and added one-unders on holes 5 and 13 to finish 3 strokes off the pace of 64, set by Brendon Todd, Hudson Johnson and Jeff Corr. The tournament continues through Saturday.
