Fan favorite John Daly, a two-time major champion, will join Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player for this year’s ceremonial tee shot. Arnold Palmer, the third member of the triumvirate known as The Big Trio, had a prior commitment opening for Avicii in Dubai and Bahrain, and will be unable to fulfill his normal duties.
I’m beyond ecstatic to be a part of this venture. Although I never won a Masters tournament, I certainly enjoyed my time at Augusta National. In fact, I love Augusta more than these other two guys. I’ve parked my bus at the Hooters by the Masters Cinema 7, you know, the movie theater they named for my favorite hole at the course, the one they call Pampas, in honor of the gauchos from Argentina who won the Masters, like Roberto deVicenzo and Angel Cabrera…John B. Daly indicated that he would ask Loudmouth Golf to design a special pair of trousers and a unique polo for his first appearance as honorary starter at the Masters.
