Eight golfers moved out of qualifying into the 2013 Porter Cup tournament today. From medalist Bryce Edmister (65) to Nicholas Torrance, Stephane Dubois and Hagen Barmasse (69), scores were lower thi syear than any other previous q-school. 2013 represents the first year that a score in the 60s was necessary to advance.
Local products Patrick Sheedy (East Amherst) and Jonathan Clark (Orchard Park) were one stroke behind Edmister, at 66. Austin Nowak (Lancaster) signed for a 67. Four more area golfers finished in the top 14, just missing a berth in the tournament proper.
