PHOENIX (Aug. 1, 2013) – PING today introduced nFlight® Mobile, a wireless version of its industry-first nFlight custom-fitting software, enabling a complete-bag PING fitting using an iPad®. nFlight Mobile provides the most in-depth results when used with a variety of launch monitors while also offering highly accurate fittings when a launch monitor is not available. In North America, results can be sent straight from the iPad into PING’s production process 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“nFlight Mobile is an exciting innovation because it makes the fitting process highly efficient and it has the potential to bring nFlight’s breakthrough technology to more golf operations and to more players,” said John A. Solheim, PING Chairman & CEO. “Fitters will appreciate the speed and simplicity of nFlight Mobile. Fitters with a launch monitor can benefit from a virtual driving range where every club and actual ball flight can be analyzed and compared using nFlight’s dispersion and optimal-shot-band graphics. Even without a launch monitor, they’re able to simulate shot results using nFlight Mobile’s animation capability and make set recommendations. By introducing more golfers to the benefits of custom fitting, nFlight Mobile satisfies one of the core objectives that our company was founded on in 1959.”

Another innovation is the Shaft Visualization Tool that lets the PING fitter compare and contrast PING’s after-market shaft offerings using the company’s own measuring guidelines to ensure a level comparison. There’s a virtual lie board with lie-tape analysis, static fitting measurements, and a feature that converts flight data from most types of range balls into the performance of a premium ball. nFlight Mobile also makes product and educational videos available so fitters can get advanced training.

nFlight Mobile is compatible with the Foresight® GC2a, FlightScope® X2, and the TrackMan® IIIe launch monitors using Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity.

“nFlight Mobile is effective because it combines our knowledge of custom fitting with the expertise of PING-certified club fitters and makes it all available through the portable convenience of user-friendly iPad technology,” Solheim said. “Using an iPad or iPad mini, fitters can stream instant results to the golfer and discuss a set makeup from the palm of their hand. The fitter then emails comprehensive fitting results directly to the customer. In the end, the golfer comes away with a memorable, positive experience and most importantly, a set of PING clubs that’s going to help him or her perform better on the course.”
