It was announced that Lewiston, New York will be the site of a local qualifier for the Veritas World Junior Golf Championship.  The Veritas event will be held in July 2014 in Los Angeles, California.

The qualifier event is scheduled to be played at the Seneca Hickory Stick Golf Course on November 2 and 3.
The qualifying event is being hosted by CAGT.  Niagara Falls native Tom Lizardo founded the CAGT, which has been playing Nationally Ranked Junior Golf Events in the Washington, DC Area since 2009.  Tee times are scheduled to begin at 11:30 am on Saturday, November 2 and 11 am Sunday, November 3.

In addition to being a Veritas Qualifier, the tournament at Seneca Hickory Stick is posted at  — and is scheduled to be nationally-ranked by the scoreboard, which is the premier clearinghouse for ranking top junior players and tournaments from around the world.

CAGT was begun by Niagara Falls native Tom Lizardo, who originally began the tour to give additional top-level playing opportunities to junior golfers in the Washington, DC area before recently expanding its mission.  Players from Africa, Asia and South America have played in CAGT events.
The organization has also maintained relationships with the American Junior Golf Association, The Canadian Junior Golf Association, The International Junior Masters and The Callaway Junior World Golf Championships.  CAGT’s signature event, the National Capital Junior Masters, has been ranked by GOLFWEEK Magazine the past two seasons.
CAGT has also advertised on the Golf Channel during the President’s Cup, as well as on an NBC affiliate during the PGA Tour championship, and on ESPN Sports Radio.

CAGT has had a high percentage of its players go on to play at the college level for programs such as Virginia Tech, Notre Dame, Niagara University, Radford University, Livingstone College, Christopher Newport University, Towson University, Bridgewater College, Shenandoah University and several others.
