A few years back, I decided to upgrade the weekly newsletter and include professional and amateur golf results from the major players. And I’m glad that I did! With snow still lingering on the ground, there’s no guarantee that we’ll get back out on the course before the new year. My snowboarding days are behind me, so I needs my golf!

That said, here is a list of professional events on deck this week, beginning with the Ladies European Tour at the Dubai Masters. The guys had their crack at that country last week, so now the women get a shot. Follow that up with a men’s Asian Tour date at the Thailand Open. A preliminary event last week was cancelled, so only one big tourney this month in Thailand. Too bad, so on we go to Australia and the Australian Masters. At least they used to call it that, until they sold the naming rights to some JBWere company. Swing back around the world to South America, Chile to be precise, and the Abierto Sport Frances.

No guarantees that you’ll find these events on television, although the Golf Channel is pretty good about doing it espn-old-school and finding events from around the world. At least it’s comforting to know that somewhere the sun is shining, somewhere children shout, and somewhere, they putt out.
