We’ll start with the latest news from Lewiston Heights. Three golfers were recently added to the field of the 55th rendering of the Porter Cup. Bryson Dechambeau, Bo Andrews and Michael Boss gained entry into the event this week, the tournament committee announced.

The Porter Cup takes place next week (July 23-27) at the Niagara Falls country club. Tuesday the 23rd is the Ham-Am, a fun event that also serves as a practice round for the players. The tournament begins in earnest on Wednesday and continues through Saturday, when a champion will be recognized.

Bryson Dechambeau is a sophomore at Southern Methodist University (Dallas, TX.) From Clovis, California, Dechambeau won the Trans-Mississippi amateur at the Meadow Club in July. Bo Andrews will be a senior at Georgia Tech (Atlanta, GA). He hails from Raleigh, N.C. and was runner-up in June at the Northeast Amateur in Rhode Island. Michael Boss plays for the Flagler Saints (St. Augustine, FL) and grew up in Lewiston.
