Since this isn’t my truest bread-winner, I’ve been able to preserve the romance of reporting on golf tournaments. I’ve never been in town for the entirety of a single event and I look forward to the arrival and regret the departure. Since I learned that the 2013 Walker Cup would be played at NGLA, I began to steel myself (not quite like a Sith, but close) as I knew that I would pass through the gates of the forbidden kingdom on Friday and would exit through them a final time on Sunday. The time for the latter has arrived and I’m certain that once I reach NYC and attempt to navigate my way through the labyrinth, all thoughts of Bullhead Bay will have temporarily receded. Once across the Hudson, I’ll spend a grand five hours on I-90 and recall my few days at NGLA.
