The world’s eyes are on Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, for the US Open this week. Rory McIlroy has the first-round lead while a host of talented golfers trail him, all seeking relative immortality and golfing glory. These are the salad days of golf viewing for the golf aficionado…Summer has commenced, more or less, and professional and amateur circuits are in full cycle. Take a look at what else is going on this week.

Southwestern Amateur in El Paso, Texas;
Southeastern Amateur in Columbus, Georgia;
Monroe Invitational near Rochester, New York.

Although the International Junior Masters at East Aurora Country Club is a few weeks away and the Porter Cup at Niagara Falls Country Club falls in late July, there is plenty of viewing close by (Monroe Invitational in Rochester) on the web and on television.
