The world’s eyes are on Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, for the US Open this week. Rory McIlroy has the first-round lead while a host of talented golfers trail him, all seeking relative immortality and golfing glory. These are the salad days of golf viewing for the golf aficionado…Summer has commenced, more or less, and professional and amateur circuits are in full cycle. Take a look at what else is going on this week.

Amateur golf:
Southwestern Amateur in El Paso, Texas;
Southeastern Amateur in Columbus, Georgia;
Monroe Invitational near Rochester, New York.

Professional golf:
LPGA Futures Tour at Players Championship;
Ladies European Tour in Switzerland;
European Regular & Challenge Tours at Saint-Omer Open;
Nationwide Tour in Wichita, Kansas;
Asian Tour at Queen’s Cup:

Although the International Junior Masters at East Aurora Country Club is a few weeks away and the Porter Cup at Niagara Falls Country Club falls in late July, there is plenty of viewing close by (Monroe Invitational in Rochester) on the web and on television. Swim in all the golf there is, as we’ll find ourselves missing it come January.
