Both I and Mo’ Golf have played 100 holes of golf in a day — so Bob Dicesare’s recent column about that exact feat resonated with the writers at BuffaloGolfer.com. Dicesare talks openly about the pain, length and aches that come with hitting that many balls and logging that many fairways.

~ I have fond memories from the event and can attest to some tight backs and shoulders along the way. The biggest thing that I took from my 100-hole marathon last summer was I couldn’t believe how quickly it all went. You think “I’m going to be out here until 9 at night” and then magically, you’re wrapped up before dinner time.

~ How much 100 holes impacts you also has a lot to do with your skill level. Mo’Golf probably fired off about 450 shots during the day. Myself, a lesser player, we’re probably looking at 550.

~ If you’re lucky enough (smart enough) to bring a driver for the day, make sure you pick a good one. I had a former writer of BuffaloGolfer.com that was kind even no my ugliest swings. He drove the cart, fixed divots, made sure we grabbed a beer or two along the way and kept me smiling on event the baddest bogeys.

~ Eventually though you come to the same thought that Dicesare leaves his column with…it’s great to do this for a great cause. Dicesare’s efforts helped raise funds for the Boys and Girls Club. Both mine and Mo Golf’s raised $ for Carly’s Club and Roswell Park. 100 Holes isn’t easy, but it’s a far cry from some of the other challenges in the world and it’s a great way to help out.
