CARLSBAD, Calif., February 21, 2013 – Today Callaway Golf announced the ten members of the X Hot Long Drive Team. The ten long drive professionals will join RE/MAX World Long Drive Champions Jamie Sadlowski, Joe Miller and Bobby Wilson as Callaway Ambassadors. In January, Callaway announced an exclusive, multiyear partnership with Long Drivers of America (LDA). Under the agreement, Callaway is the exclusive club sponsor and official driver of the RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship and Long Drivers of America.

Two-Time RE/MAX World Champion Carl Wolter and former world champion Mike Dobbyn headline the group of long drive professionals, who have all proven themselves in LDA competitions and keep extensive exhibition and competition schedules. The X Hot team features both experience and newcomers. Hinson is just 17 years old and Frakes is 21. The long drive team will play and promote Callaway clubs, balls, and sport the Callaway X Hot staff bag and cap.
As part of the partnership, LDA is also selling Callaway X Hot Pro LD Drivers, a long drive version of the X Hot Driver that has been configured for high ball speed and distance gains. The X Hot Pro LD Driver head weighs approximately 199 grams and features the powerfully fast Speed Frame Face Technology. The Speed Frame Face increases ball speed, saves weight and optimizes stiffness and stress distribution across the face for more efficient energy transfer. The new face technology promotes more – and more consistent — distance, even on off-center impact.
The drivers also feature the thinnest casting technology ever in the all-titanium head to create a lighter swing weight and overall configuration, a combination that benefits most players in terms of head speed and distance.
LDA and the RE/MAX World Long Drive Contest will begin a new partnership with NBC/Golf Channel in 2013, totaling 26 hours of airtime on Golf Channel affiliates worldwide. October becomes Long Drive Month on the Golf Channel, culminating in a live two-hour finale from Las Vegas on the Golf Channel on October 30. The sport will also make its network television debut on NBC in Q4 that intends to elevate the sport of long drive. As the exclusive club sponsor, Callaway will be prominently featured during the events.
