If you follow professional golf with any vigor, than you undoubtedly have favorite memories from favorite events. For me, this is the best week for golf of the year. I love when the rough is grown to “Amazon” length. I love when the greens get so fast players practice putting in their bath tubs. I love when par has a chance to win the tournament.

My favorite U.S. Open memory is Woods’ victory in 2002 at Bethpage State Park’s Black Course. The rain and wind made the course simply to brutal for many players. I remember Woods, Sergio Garcia and Phil Mickelson all had a shot on Sunday. It was a great day.
