This weekend’s Heritage Tournament at Harbour Town Golf Links could be the last if the group doesn’t find a new title sponsor to underwrite the approximately $8 million it costs to hold the event. The group is seeking a new partnership and Jim Furyk seems confident that a deal will get done.

Harbour Town is one of the few pro courses I’ve vistited and I can attest to its beauty. There are few areas in the country so committed to golf. I think this year’s very strong field speaks to the fact that the players want the event to stay on the schedule. The course and tournament are part of golf history and it would be more than a shame if the course has to relocate or leave Hilton Head Island.

Enjoy watching the Heritage this weekend. And, just hope it’s not the last time.
