2015 Interview Series: Mark Mungeam
1. Tell Us Who You Are: I grew up in Berlin, Massachusetts, a small town about an hour west of Boston. I played golf sparingly as a kid, although I did like hitting plastic golf balls around the yard on made up “holes”. When I was 15 I was closest to the pin at a...
Blasted Heaths and Blessed Greens: Book Review
James Finegan begins his Golfer's Pilgrimage to the Courses of Scotland in Edinburgh, on a course called Braid's Hill. Most aficionados of Scottish golf won't mention Braid's Hill, so this opening tip of the cap might be seen as curious by the under-informed. My sense...

Book Review: The Secrets of Islay
The Secrets of Islay (if you're looking for a copy, try AbeBooks) is not a golf book. It features golf, but it is one man's effort to tell a story of life. A man, from all appearances, davincian in nature, with an uncommon combination of drive and diversity. According...
James Finegan and Irish Golf Courses: A Book Review
James W. Finegan's two fingers ceased typing last month. His hands were blessed with a full compilation of digits, all ten of which he used to hold a golf club and spank the little orb a mighty 210 or 220 yards. While pecking away at a typewriter, he only needed two...
